Michael Infante

Michael Infante graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2010. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with over 4 years of experience in the accounting profession.

Michael began his career in the private sector, working for an investment company. After earning his CMA designation, he transitioned into his current role as an Intermediate Accountant with the BC Teachers' Federation.
​
Beyond his professional work, Michael has been a key figure in founding the Kabayan Academic Mentorship Program, where he currently serves as the head of finance and mentors newly immigrated Filipino youth. He is also actively involved with KABA UBC Alumni, leading a mentorship program for recent graduates.
​
In his spare time, Michael enjoys staying active through CrossFit, hiking, and traveling. He is also committed to continuous professional and personal development.
Julian Ysmael

Julian Ysmael graduated Magna Cum Laude with dual degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics—from De La Salle University-Manila in December 2011. He earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the Philippines in May 2012 and briefly worked as a Junior Assistant Manager at the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company before relocating to Canada in December 2012.
In 2013, Julian began his career in Canada by taking on various finance roles at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Later that same year, he established himself at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, UBC, where he has served as Finance Manager since June 2015. Julian further advanced his qualifications by earning his CPA, CGA designation in June 2016 and passing the CFA Level 1 exam.
Outside of his professional life, Julian is a passionate sports enthusiast, avidly following the Golden State Warriors, Rafael Nadal, and Peter Sagan. He enjoys hiking and running in the summer and snowboarding during the winter.
Cecil Sanchez

Cecil Sanchez was born in Pasig City, Philippines. He graduated with a BSBA from the University of the Philippines and was an AFS scholar in the USA before moving to Canada. In 1985, he earned his CMA designation and became a BC CMA Gold Medalist. He worked as the Manager of Corporate Accounting at WestFraser Timber, where he was admired for his leadership and expertise.

As a founding member and President of AFCA-BC in 2009, Cecil was instrumental in fostering the Filipino accounting community in BC. His commitment and passion helped elevate the association and provided support for many aspiring professionals.
​
Cecil was known for his generosity and humility, always offering guidance and assistance to those around him. He was a dedicated volunteer at St. Patrick's Parish in Vancouver, and his kindness touched many lives.
​
His passing in 2023 left a profound impact on all who knew him. Cecil is fondly remembered for his compassion, his dedication to the community, and his professional excellence. He is greatly missed, but his legacy of service and kindness endures.
​
Outside of work, Cecil enjoyed playing squash and tennis, embodying balance and positivity in all aspects of life.
